A bunker to survive the end of the world?

Hello everyone. Things are getting weird...

I received a flyer from my family after talking with Father Phelps about the trailer for the 2012 movie (the Maya announced the end of the world in 2012! or the calendar ends, no one knows for sure).

The pastor entrusted me with a mission for our survival: that of monitoring a safe congregation space to ensure that it was viable. The community would like to go there at the end of December just to be safe in case anything goes wrong… They want to make sure that everything works in the long term and that we can live there for months because it hasn’t been used for a long time… I guess I’m making a fuss of things, he was kind of playful in his manner of talking about it - it’s probably just an excuse for a community outing. Did you know that in old pagan times before christianity took over in Europe, pagan people and tribes used to do the same thing for solstice? They would choose a spot for gathering and would hunker down there, eating, praying and keeping each other warm! If that’s where this is going count me in.

This is going to apparently take the form of a summer job - Mom said it wouldn’t hurt seeing as how money’s pretty tight around this time of the year, and that I could use a break from just staying in my room. But what does she know? I actually have a very rigourous schedule when i’m doing research on my PC. In any case this’ll allow me to take my mind off things and work for the survival of the community!
