Fought with my mom

i had a major clash with my mom after church, and let's just say it wasn't pretty.

Here’s the deal: I may have crossed a line during service by singing anime openings. Yep, in the middle of a holy place, I went full anime mode. Bad move.

Now, to me, those songs are like anthems, right? But apparently, belting out anime tunes in church isn’t exactly what my mom considers “appropriate worship music.” Oops.

She pulled me aside after the service and, well, let’s just say she wasn’t thrilled. She went full lecture mode on how my behavior wasn’t exactly reflecting Christian values. I get it, I probably disrupted the whole vibe.

It turned into this whole thing about respecting the church space, being mindful of others, and representing our beliefs in a way that’s, you know, a bit more church-appropriate.

But man, it’s tough when what feels natural to me clashes with what’s expected in that setting. I love those anime songs, and to me, they’re just music, regardless of where I am. But I get where my mom’s coming from.

It ended in a bit of a tense standoff, but I’m trying to see things from her perspective. Maybe there’s a time and place for everything, and church might not be the best stage for my anime karaoke sessions.

Lesson learned, I guess. It’s about finding a balance between being true to myself and respecting the space and beliefs of others. Anyone else had clashes like this? Let me know. Until then, I’ll keep my anime playlist on silent mode during church hours.
